Web Interface Problems

Q: Why can't I join a forum?
A: You MUST confirm your membership before you can join it. When you subscribe to a Forum via the web an Email will be automatically sent to the address you entered. You must respond to this Email to complete the subscription process.

Q: Why can't I send a message?
A: All Forums require that you be a member before you may post a message. Be sure that you are a member, and that you have logged in.

Q: Why can't I log in?
A: Make sure that you are adding the final slash to http://list.sailjazz.com/read/. If you are getting a "pop-up" authentication window then you're probably missing the final "/" (slash).

Q: Why do I only see some of the Forums I've joined?
A: If you are a member of several Forums with different email addresses or passwords, the lists you have access to will depend on the email address/password combination you provide when you log in. If you do not have a password for some lists, but you have one for others, you will need to provide your password to access any of your lists, even those for which you do not have a password.

Q: Why do I keep getting asked to log in?
A: If you do not log in successfully, the interface assumes that you made a mistake when trying to log in and asks you to log in again. Click on the Messages or All Forums tabs if you'd like to stop trying to log in.

Q: What do I do if I forget my password?
A: If you forget your password, and enter an incorrect password, you will be warned that an incorrect password has been entered for that email address. You can then click Email password and you will immediately be sent an email informing you of which lists you are subscribed to, and your password(s) for each list.

Q: Why am I asked if I want to accept a cookie?
A: Cookies allow the List Server to keep track of your log in information as you move through the Forums. Your browser must accept cookies in order to log in and use the discussion forum interface. Either manually accept the cookies the server is giving to you, or change your web browser's settings to allow cookies.
