Welcome

This page is designed to help you get started on your first visit to the Email Forums at SAILjazz.

The links at left provide access to full help files that provide more detailed information on each option within the forum interface.

First, you do not have to log in unless you plan to use the Web Interface to post a message to one of the Email Forums. You can browse all the Email Forums, reading messages and even join forums without ever logging in...

Second, you can't log in until you've joined one of the Email Forums. You create your log in account during the process of joining a Forum. See below for instructions on joining a Forum.

To browse the Email Forums, just scroll down the list on the "All Forums" tab. Select an Email Forum by clicking on it's name. This will bring up recent postings to that forum. You can then search that Email Forum by clicking on the "Search" Tab.

To join an Email Forum, just click on the "Subscribe" Button to the right of that Forum's name. Enter your Email Address and an Optional Name and Password. The server will send a confirmation message to the Email Address you enter. You MUST reply to that confirmation Email before your membership will be activated. This prevents someone from maliciously subscribing others to a Email Forum.

Once you've been confirmed then you can "log in" if you want. The only advantage to logging in is that you can then post a message using the Web Interface. The other advantage is that the forums you have joined will now be listed under the "My Forums" tab -- which should be a much shorter list than "All Forums."

We hope this short introduction helps you get started quickly and easily. Please remember there is a full help file available at all times. You can access it by clicking on the small question mark in a blue circle that appears on the right margin of the page header, it looks like this:
help.

If you have any suggestions for improving this introduction, or the forums in general, please drop us a line at webmaster@sailjazz.com.

Thanks for your support,

Sam & Cheryl Boyle
