Email Interface Problems

Q: Why isn't my message being posted to the Forum?
A: The most common cause of this problem is that you have subscribed under one email address and are trying to post from another. For example, you may have subscribed as george@someplace.com. However, your email program shows your address as george@machine.someplace.com. You can check the settings on your email program to make sure the address is the same as the one you used to subscribe to the Forum.

Q: Why can't I join a Forum?
A: You WILL need to confirm your membership before you can join it. When you join a Forum via email a confirmation message is emailed to the Email address you specified. You must respond to this Email before you can join the Forum.

Q: Why is my message being rejected for attachments?
A: The Server is programmed to reject any message containing an attachment. This was done to prevent the spread of viruses or malicious code to an entire Forum. Delete the attachment from your Email and it will be accepted. If you would like to post a file for the Forum then visit ftp://ftp.sailjazz.com and place the file under the appropriate list folder. You can then add a URL pointer to that file in your email.
