Harken Expands ESP Line

Harken has made a key addition to its ESP line of blocks. Added to the ESP family is a 75 mm fiddle with Offshore Cam-Matic® cleat and becket.

ESP blocks complement Harken’s Black Magic® line in looks and function, but are simpler in design than its standard line of ball and roller bearing blocks. Sheaves feature axle bearings to handle high static loads, while contained ball bearings manage sideloads so blocks spin freely when loads are released.

The 75 mm fiddle features robust aluminum sideplates. The wider sheaves are popular with cruising sailors and will easily handle line up to ¾” (19 mm). The cam arm is integral to the block for strength and angles upward 20 degrees for optimum sheeting.

The 75 mm ESP is the strongest fiddle we make,” said Olaf Harken company vice president. With a SWL of 2000 lbs (907 kg), this block is engineered for a number of specific applications such as mainsheet blocks, runners and vang systems on cruising boats. ESP blocks are elegant, affordable, and a wonderful solution for cruising sailors,” he said.
