In Jan 2005, we went to look at a 2004 IP 370 and felt that the boat we thought was 3-5 years away was right in front of us. By Mar 5, 2005, we were the proud owners of an Island Packet that had been in the water for 2 months in '04. The deal went down thru Hellier Yachts of New London, Ct. who sold it the prior year to the former owner. As an Island Packet dealer, I felt they were extremely knowedgable, and very easy to work with. There was no rush to get the boat out of their yard in May when many boats are being launched. And the day we were to leave, we received a thorough going over on the boat. All questions were answered so that we were clear on how to operate our new boat. Both Rick Dieterich, our broker and Vin Patrella, owner of Hellier Yachts were as excited as we were and even after arriving home, they have continued to follow up with us, making sure we are satisfied. Island Packet is a very close knit company and they make you feel like family, and so does Hellier Yachts. No matter who you call at Hellier, they are always eager to answer your questions. Unfortunately, we will probably never buy another boat as we have made our IP 370 as close to a perfect home as possible, but if we did, I would not hesitate to contact the group at Hellier Yachts.
